What is the fun walk you ask? It is this really fun walk through a portion of the Marion County Park and has eight or so stations for you to stop and have fun in. This year’s theme is Health and Fitness Through the Bible. We will have stations that include a sprinting race and weight lifting competition, but it isn’t ALL workingout we will also have a couple games, bounce houses, musicians, and snacks. We will also have several of our area providers there with information about their services and what they provide, they always have some great trinkets to hand out to the kids. This year we are on the same day as the Marion County Historical Society’s Pioneer Days so the family can come out and make a whole day of fun.
It is open to the community for all ages for just $10, for extra they can order a t-shirt also.
The event is June 8th from 9:00-12:00 but it takes about 1 hour to walk through so everyone should try to be there by 11:00 so they don’t have to rush. After that I would encourage families to go over to the historical village and have lunch, I hear they will have some yummy food available for purchase.
Now back to the donors/sponsors, who are they and why do we need them. This is open to businesses or individuals that would like to help us out. Freedom for Youth – Knoxville is a faith-based, nonprofit after school program in Knoxville that is a growing rapidly. We serve nearly 80 kids in the community, with this comes expenses. The Fun Walk is one of our major fundraisers and engages the community in a fun way and also gets the donor/sponsor some recognition. Don’t forget we are a 501(c)3 so your donation is a tax deduction. The deadline to be a sponsor/donor is April 30th. Here is what you receive for your contribution…..
- Donor – Any amount $499 or less
– recognized in the welcome packet
- Bronze Sponsor – $500
-recognized on the event T-shirt and with an 18”x 24” yard sign along the walk route
- Silver Sponsor – $1,000
-2 Fun Walk Participant tickets (complete with t-shirt) ad a 30”x 48” sign
- Gold Sponsor – $3,000
-3 Fun Walk Participant tickets (for a total of 5 tickets) and two 48”x 72” signs and the option to set up a booth at the event
If you wish to remain anonymous that is perfectly fine, we can keep your name just between us, but please make sure we know that.
