Randy Joseph McCullough

Randy Joseph McCullough, 70, passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2025, at his
home in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. Family will greet guests from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on
Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas. Mass
of Christian burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the
church. Randy will be interred in the Sacred Heart Cemetery following services with a
luncheon to follow.
Born in Chariton, Iowa, on May 28, 1954, Randy was the son of Millard McCullough Jr.,
and Darlene (Smith) McCullough. In high school at Melcher- Dallas Randy excelled in
athletics, earning multiple letters in 4 different sports. After graduation, he worked for
AMF before joining Pella Corporation, where he dedicated 29 years of service before
retiring. An avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, Randy spent many joyful hours rooting for his
beloved Hawks. He was known for his generosity and thoughtfulness, never forgetting a
birthday, and always giving a little extra cash to his loved ones. His family was the
center of his world, and he cherished calls from his sons and grandchildren, always
excited to hear from them. He was a proud father and grandfather, and his love for them
knew no bounds. No matter how far away they were, Randy always made an effort to
keep in touch with them by phone or by travel. In addition, he was very proud of his
property and took meticulous care of his lawn. Friends were always welcomed.
Randy is survived by his sons, Jason McCullough, Reno, NV; Josh McCullough
(Chisaki), Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Landon, Jaxson, and Josie, Tuscaloosa, AL.
Siblings: Greg (Sandy) McCullough, Carlisle, IA and LuAnn Lind (Gary), Valley, NE, and
many other loving family members and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by this parents and infant nephew, Paul James
McCullough.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Randy’s name may be directed to the Millard and
Darlene McCullough Scholarship Fund.
