Michael H. Chambers was born December 8, 1949, to Harold and Betty
Chambers. He grew up in the Knoxville area and graduated from Knoxville
High School in 1968. He then attended AIB in Des Moines until entering the
National Guard.
He married Teri Keller on November 30, 1968, and they were blessed with
two children: Kristi and Kade. He had worked for John Deere in Ankeny, the
Hy-Vee Store, and Larry’s Sure Fine Foods in Knoxville before starting at
Vermeer. He retired from Vermeer in 2011 as an assembler and parts
manager. Michael loved farming and had started off with Dairy cattle and
then raised beef cattle, always making sure his kids and grandchildren
were active in 4-H. He also loved horses and worked with them on the farm
growing up. He just loved everything outdoors. He fished and hunted, and
raised bird dogs. Michael enjoyed working with his old tractors and made
sure his grandchildren knew how to fish, cut wood, work hard, and do it all
with a great sense of humor. When he took time to slow down, he would
enjoy watching the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Michael passed away February 7, 2025. He will be greatly missed by his
wife, Teri; children: Kristi (Terry Davis) Chambers and Kade (Tina)
Chambers; grandchildren: Logan Chambers, Tanner Chambers, Emily
(Alex) Adams, Madison Parks, and Bailey Parks; great grandchildren: Ivy,
Nora, August, Bentley, and Dalton; along with many friends and relatives.
