Charles Hoyt Sherlock, 83, of Knoxville, passed away on April 28, 2025.
Funeral services for Charles will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 10:30
am at the Knoxville Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at the
Breckenridge Cemetery.
On January 4, 1942, Charles was born in Knoxville, Iowa, to Hoyt and
Hazel Sherlock. Shortly after he was born, his father passed away,
thankfully, Bill Oostrum was a great fatherly figure towards Charles.
Charles grew up on a family farm, always helping Bill with cattle and sheep
and was always trying to take care of the barn cats. He was a natural born
farmer and enjoyed every minute he could on the farm. In 2015, Charles
moved back to town on East Montgomery and would often visit the senior
center for something to do.
Pictures were a form of art for Charles. He enjoyed taking pictures and
even had a whole library of photos and videos from his visits to the Iowa
State Fair. Charles had an eye for imagery which is a great talent for
someone who loved photography.
Charles will be greatly missed by many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Hazel and his stepfather,
Bill Oostrum.
