Jeffery Dean Wallace was born December 26, 1969, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Meredith and
Emma Bates Wallace. He was the big brother to his “Sissy” Dawn, Jeff was always
looking out for his little sister, saving her from falling branches or crawling into the
furnace vent at the house.
He attended school at the Pella Christian Opportunity Center. He was meticulous in his
ways, which made him a great golfer, baseball player, and he especially loved bowling,
getting 18 strikes in a row in one match. That same meticulousness was helpful when
Pella Corp brought over buckets of tiny screws and bolts to sort, he excelled in accuracy
and speed at this task.
Jeff loved playing games and was a little bit ornery. Music and singing were very fun
for Jeff, and he loved good old sing along songs, and the Looney Tunes were a favorite
on TV.
Jeff loved his family and always made sure to give a big hello to everyone he loved,
especially his niece and nephews.
Jeff passed away at the Knoxville Hospital on September 11, 2025. Jeff will be greatly
missed by his mother, Emma Bates; father, Meredith Wallace; sister, Meredith Dawn
(Billy) Poe; niece and nephews: Dakota Poe, Shalyn (Noah) Moore, and Tracey Poe;
along with many cousins, relatives, and friends.
