Sept. 7
In the past 24 hours Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 19 calls for service
including, but not limited to: 6 paper service attempts, 1 vehicle accident, 1 report of a
reckless driver, 1 suspicious person, 1 motorist assist, 1 extra patrol requests, 1 return
call, 1 welfare check, 1 dog call, 1 civil call, 1 illegal burn, 1 suspicious activity, and 2
other calls.
In the past 24 hours, the Marion County Sheriff’s office communications center fielded
64 calls including 12 911 calls.
The Marion County Jail is currently holding 22 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 3 subjects
were booked into the Marion County Jail: Tabatha Ann Baker, age 44 of Knoxville, was
charged with driving under suspension, possession of controlled substance-3rd, and
possession of drug paraphernalia; Michael Scott Jacobs, age 57 of Knoxville, was
charged with driving under suspension; Michael Aaron Bruce, age 35 of Knoxville, was
booked in on a judgment entry/mittimus.
Sept. 8
In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 24 calls for service including, but not limited
to: 7 paper service attempts, 7 extra patrol requests, 1 transport, 1 reckless driver, 1
motorist assist, 1 dog call, 1 welfare check, 1 juvenile, 1 business alarm, met with 1
subject, 1 accident, and 1 vehicle unlock.
In the past 24 hours, the communications center fielded 40 calls including 15 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 19 subjects. In the past 24 hours, no subjects were booked
into the Marion County Jail.
Sept. 9
In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 21 calls for service including, but not limited
to: 5 paper service attempts, 3 motorist assists, 2 rescues, 2 civil calls, 1 report of a
suspicious odor, 1 return call, 1 report of debris in the roadway, 1 follow up, 1 grass fire,
1 vehicle accident, 1 violation of a no contact order, 1 wanted person, and 1 other call.
In the past 24 hours, the communications center fielded 94 calls including 36 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 20 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 2 subjects were booked
into the jail: Herve Shimwe Twagirumukiza, age 21 of Clive, was charged with violation
of pretrial release; Michelle Lee Sammons, age 38 of Ottumwa, was charged with
domestic abuse assault-2nd offense.
Sept. 10
In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 38 calls for service including, but not limited
to: 11 paper service attempts, 6 extra patrol requests, 2 return calls, 2 wanted persons,
2 rescues, 2 motorist assists, 1 report of an intoxicated driver, 1 report of reckless driver,
1 report of harassment, 1 incomplete 911 call, 1 requests to check welfare, 1 requests
for a vehicle unlock, 1 report of fraud, 1 request to assist another agency, 1 transport,
and 4 other calls for service.
In the past 24 hours, the communications center fielded 97 calls including 19 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 24 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 9 subjects were booked
into the jail: Julianne Joe Beckett, age 26 of Melcher, was charged with violation of
parole; Jaxson Fisher Willis, age 21 of Knoxville, was charged tampering with witness,
and sex abuse 3rd-physical helpless; Christopher Matthew Khan Hoangvan, age 34 of
Des Moines, Dustin Darrel Debrower, age 33 of Des Moines, Michael James Philips,
age 37 of Des Moines, and Eric Arnold Simpson, age 58 of Des Moines, are all on hold
for other agency; Michelle Lee Sammons, age 34 of Ottumwa, was charged with
violating of a no contact order-domestic; Shawna Kathleen Patzel, age 43 of Oskaloosa,
was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a control
substance 2 nd .
Sept. 11
In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 35 calls for service including, but not limited
to 10 extra patrol checks, five paper service attempts, three vehicle accidents, three
rescues, three requests to assist other agencies, two reports of suspicious persons, one
motorist assist, one report of debris in the roadway, one follow up, one vehicle fire, one
violation of a no contact order, one juvenile call, one wanted person, one domestic and
one other call.
In the past 24 hours, the communications center fielded 102 calls including 31 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 27 subjects. In the past 24 hours, zero subjects were
booked into the jail.
Sept. 12
In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 42 calls for service including, but not limited
to 12 paper service attempts, 10 extra patrol requests, 2 follow ups, 2 vehicle
inspections, 2 return calls, 2 reports of reckless drivers, 1 dog, 1 violation of a no
contact order, 1 rescue, 1 report of debris in the roadway, 1 domestic, 1 wanted person,
1 report of fraud, 1 request to assist another agency, and 1 motorist assist.
In the past 24 hours, the communications center fielded 94 calls including 27 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 23 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 5 subjects were booked
into the jail: Marlee Marie Morton, age 28 of Pella, was charged with OWI 2nd offense,
possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana 2nd; David Lee Gogley,
age 66 of Knoxville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of
a controlled substance 3rd, and possession of marijuana 3rd; Robert Lynn Huges, age
49 of Melcher, was charged with OWI 1st offense, and possession of drug
paraphernalia; Derrick David Ritenour, age 29 of Oskaloosa, was charged with 3 counts
of sexual abuse in the 3rd degree; Tina Marie Bazer, age 36 of Knoxville, was charged
with domestic assault-bodily injury 1 st .
Sept. 13
In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 26 calls for service including, but not limited
to: 5 extra patrol requests, returned 4 phone calls, 3 other calls, 2 paper service
attempts, 2 motorist assists, 1 reckless driver, 1 fraud call, 1 livestock, 1 rescue, 1
welfare check, 1 civil call, 1 deer call, met with 1 subject, 1 suspicious vehicle, and 1
vehicle unlock.
In the past 24 hours, the communications center fielded 77 calls including 22 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 21 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 4 subjects were booked
into the jail: Madison Kay Jane Weldon, age 25 of Knoxville, was charged with failure to
appear/contempt of court; Michelle Lee Sammson, age 38 of Ottumwa, was charged
with theft 4th degree >$300<$750; Kevin Christopher Mortenson, age 40 of Knoxville,
was charged with judgment entry/mittimus; Margaret Elizabeth Calder, age 41 of IRA,
was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
