Todd Hoch, 59, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, December 12, 2025. A
service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, at Pierschbacher Funeral
Home in Knoxville. Following the service, a celebration of life gathering will be held until
7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later
date.
Todd William Hoch was born on February 7, 1966, to Clifford Dean and Phyllis Joann
(Williams) Hoch. He was the youngest of four children. Todd grew up in Melcher-Dallas,
where he was active in sports and spent time with friends building race cars and getting
into a bit of mischief. After graduating from high school in 1984, Todd worked for Hormel
for a couple of years.
Todd attended Indian Hills Community College, where he earned an associate degree in
Engineering Technology. He began working for Cargill in Eddyville, where he dedicated
25 years of service before retiring for health reasons.
Todd met Candy Lee, and they were married on June 1, 1991. They were blessed with
three children: Whitney, Tyler, and Haley. His family was the love of his life. Todd
continually encouraged his children to be the best they could be and was incredibly
proud of each of them. He especially adored his grandson, Hudson, with another
grandchild on the way.
Todd loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and
friends. Many cherished memories were made during deer hunting season and at deer
camp, where Todd’s quick wit and great sense of humor made even ordinary moments
special. He also had a passion for derby cars and racing, spending countless hours in
the garage with friends working on cars and sharing stories. Todd loved the farm and
enjoyed working at his place, always willing to lend a hand to friends and neighbors
when needed.
Todd truly had a talent for just about anything he set his mind to. He was an excellent
baker, known for his pies and cookies, and could smoke meat to perfection. He was
always experimenting with new recipes to make the best ribs or smoked meats.
Woodworking was another hobby he excelled in, and he especially enjoyed crafting
knives from deer antler sheds. In addition to all of this, Todd somehow found the time to
build his own home. He was truly gifted in all that he did.
Todd is survived by his wife, Candy; children: Whitney (Dillon) Eilers, Tyler (Daniella)
Hoch, and Haley Hoch; grandson, Hudson Eilers, and a new grandbaby on the way;
siblings: Mary (Greg) Chelleen, Craig (Karla) Hoch, and Kevin (Anita) Hoch; nine nieces
and nephews; eleven great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Joann Hoch; grandparents, Alban
“Jim” and Leona Hoch, and Harold and Ruth Williams; and his mother-in-law, Theresa
Lee.
