Knoxville, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Marion County Humane Society.
Born June 13, 1939, in Miami, Arizona, to a copper miner and his wife, Herman and Carmen Brewster,
Stacy Herman Brewster began his journey of leaving his mark and seeing the world. His parents and
sisters, Marguarite, Vera, and Sharon moved frequently growing up. At a young age he was baptized
into the Baptist Church in the Spring Branch Creek near Leonard, Oklahoma; and a second time in the
Methodist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma. His faith was always important and strong.

Stacy graduated high school on May 31, 1957, in Bixby, Oklahoma. After graduation he worked for the
Orbit Valve Company near Sand Springs, Oklahoma for four years as a shop helper to Quality Control
and as an Inventory Clerk. He made friends with some of the engineers and started to think about
college. He was set up on a blind date with a real beauty, Elaine Seckler arranged by his sister Vera.
Elaine was a student attending Northeastern at Tahlequah. He quit his job, sold his ’57 Chevy convertible
and borrowed $650 to enroll at Tahlequah. Elaine was a senior and Stacy was a freshman. The couple
was married the next fall on September 2, 1962, in Henrietta. This was the fall that he became a
“Sooner” enrolling at Oklahoma University. Through hard work and sacrifices they paid his way through
school and in 1966 he graduated with a degree in engineering and a lifelong love for the “Sooners”.

After graduation the couple moved to Tulsa and worked for Sinclair Oil for a year. Then in February of
1966 his career with the 3M Company started with accepting a job offer in Minnesota. This led to a
career spanning 35 years, 3 months, and 21 days, for what Stacy called “the best job in the world!” He
worked in Minnesota, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and ended up in Knoxville, Iowa in 1976; ending with a
title of “Purchasing Manager”.

He loved the perks of working for 3M, those included golfing many major courses across the country
(which he never became a good golfer), and eating the best steak, seafood, lobster, oysters, etc. in some
of the finest establishments in the world – and it didn’t cost Stacy a dime! HA!

Stacy and Elaine lived life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to travel. They have visited all 50
of the United States and have traveled to 22 countries. Some of these countries include Ireland (his
favorite), Wales, Denmark, Norway, Scotland, England, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Hungary, Austria,
Germany, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, Nassau, Jamaica, Argentina, and Antarctica. Many
trips were taken with family and friends as those are the two things that were always most important to
Stacy.

Stacy and Elaine were blessed with two great children: Leslie and Jeff; and he loved that his family has
grown to include grandchildren and great grandchildren. He would do anything to help his family.
Stacy lost his wife Elaine in 2020, he has been lost without her and has looked forward to their heavenly
reunion. Stacy was in an auto accident on Oct 4, 2024. His family had to say goodbye as he passed away
October 14, 2024 at the age of 85.

Stacy considered himself blessed with his family - children: Leslie (Brad) VanderLinden and Jeff (Candi)
Brewster; grandchildren: Ian (Mallory) Martinache, Katelyn Brewster, and Ben Brewster; great
grandchildren: Olen, Noah, and Lillian. He is also survived by his sisters, Marguarite Lofton, Vera York,
and Sharon Beddingfield.
