William “Buck” Norris

February 25, 2026

William “Buck” Norris passed away Friday, February 20, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, surrounded by loved ones.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Norris and Ruth (Evans) Norris of Kansas City, as well as his two loyal dogs, Bruno and Cooper.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Kaliegh) Norris of Knoxville, Iowa, and his grandchildren Hayden, Kadince, Hunter, Layla, and Karson.
Bill grew up around the Kansas City area and was raised around horses, a passion he carried with him throughout his life. In 1988 he moved to California, where he worked at Discovery Toys in Livermore. In 2016 he relocated to Iowa to be closer to family.
He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting, fishing, camping, and enjoying nature whenever he could. He was known for being well-mannered, polite, and easy to talk to — someone who left people with a good impression after every conversation.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Pella, Iowa, with details to be announced.
