Knoxville Hospital & Clinics and Pella Regional Health Center Recognize Knoxville Raceway for their Contribution of $50,000 to the Bridging the Gap Campaign

April 09, 2026

Knoxville, Iowa – Knoxville Hospital & Clinics (KHC) and Pella Regional Health Center (PRHC) proudly recognize and extend the deepest gratitude to the Knoxville Raceway for their generous contribution of $50,000 to the Bridging the Gap Campaign.

Gifts to the Bridging the Gap Campaign will help fund the South Central Iowa Radiation Center and support the partnership between KHC and PRHC to bring radiation therapy closer to home for patients across the region. This gift represents more than financial support – it reflects belief in our mission, confidence in our collaboration, and compassion for the patients and families we serve.

“I’ve seen firsthand the challenges cancer patients face when they have to travel for care. As fair board members, we’ve driven friends back and forth to Iowa City or Des Moines for radiation treatments, and it takes a toll—both physically and emotionally. That experience is why this project means so much to us and why it’s so important for us to be part of it,” said Jason Reed, General Manager, Knoxville Raceway.

The state-of-the-art radiation oncology center is expected to be completed in early 2027 and will significantly improve access to cancer care for residents of Marion County and surrounding communities, reducing the need for travel to distant treatment centers.

The 7,800-square-foot facility will house advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including:

  • A linear accelerator to deliver highly precise radiation treatments.
  • A PET/CT scanner which plays a critical role in diagnosing cancer and determining the most effective course of treatment.

Kevin Kincaid, Knoxville Hospital & Clinics CEO, shared his appreciation for Knoxville Raceway’s support.

“The support we’ve received through the Bridging the Gap campaign from our local business community speaks volumes about the strength and compassion of our community and the importance of this project. The investment from the Knoxville Raceway and Marion County Fair Board is a true testament to that. They recognize the value of providing high-quality, compassionate cancer care close to home—and what that means for patients and their families. I greatly appreciate their support.”

The South Central Iowa Radiation Center is projected to cost $14.3 million, with the majority of funding to be raised through the Bridging the Gap Campaign, led by the hospital foundations of PRHC and KHC.

“We are profoundly grateful to Knoxville Raceway for their generous support of the Radiation Center Capital Campaign,” said Bob Kroese, Pella Regional Health Center CEO. “Their kindness reaches far beyond a financial gift—it brings hope, comfort, and healing to patients and the families and caregivers who walk alongside them. Because of their compassion, we will be able to provide advanced care close to home, wrapped in the dignity, support, and human connection every person deserves during some of life’s most difficult moments. This is what community truly looks like, and we are deeply thankful to stand together in caring for one another.”
