Aimee J. Breuklander, of St. Louis, Mo, passed away on November 10, 2024 at the age
of 102 surrounded by her daughters. She had the luxury of living & staying in her home
watching the neighborhood activities out her front window until just days before her
passing.

Born September 4th, 1922, at home on the family farm near Harvey, Iowa to Charlie and
Bertha Woody Harvey, she was the little sister to Dwight, Clifford, and twins, Eugene
and Freeda. In 1939, a year earlier than expected due to being the only 3rd grade
student and promoted to 4th grade, she graduated Knoxville High School alongside a
young man who became the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” Breuklander. The couple
was married on July 29, 1944, and blessed with two daughters: Linda and Dixie; and 69
years together.

Aimee's life was marked by hard work, service & stewardship. She worked at the
Knoxville Courthouse, the Veterans Department, the Atomic Energy Commission, and
later as a secretary to a local attorney and her church, Southminster Presbyterian
Church, in St. Louis. She was also a dedicated stay-at-home mom, active church
volunteer, and a PEO Chapter member for 50 years. Strong but gentle, opinionated but
practical, a devout Christian who truly lived her faith: humble, non-judgmental,
welcoming and accepting of all.

Aimee, a dedicated Girl Scout Leader, passionately encouraged young people,
especially young women, to excel. As a scout leader, her emphasis on community
service was a major influence on many. She played many roles in people’s lives: a
mother, grandmother, mentor, teacher, and friend.

She cherished her Iowa farm roots, dedicating and keeping her farm inspired kitchen
wallpaper unchanged for over 60 years as a tribute to her heritage.
Preceding Aimee in death was her husband of 69 years, Larry Breuklander; and her
siblings: Dwight Harvey, Clifford Harvey, and twins: Eugene Harvey and Freeda West.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters: Linda Breuklander of St. Louis, MO and
Dixie (Chuck) Conine of Arlington, TX; grandchildren: Mitch Conine of Temple, TX and
Aimee (Greg) Hernandez of Phoenix, AZ; and great grandchildren: Grady and Ethan
Conine; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and beloved friends.
