In the past 24 hours Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 20 calls for service
including but not limited to: 6 extra patrol requests, 3 motorist assists, 2 domestics, 1
fight, 1 person with a gun, 1 structure fire, 1 juvenile, 1 rescue, 1 paper service attempt,
1 accident, 1 fire alarm, and 1 suspicious vehicle.
In the past 24 hours the Marion County Sheriff’s office communications center fielded 90
calls including 38 911 calls.
The Marion County jail is currently holding 14 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 4 subjects
were booked into the Jail: Paul Dean Lutz, age 57 of Knoxville, was charged with
reckless use of a firearm-no injury/damage, Intimidate with a danger weapon intended,
Ineligible to carry weapon, possession of a controlled substance 1,2,3rd, possession of
a controlled substance 1,2,3rd, possession of drug paraphernalia; Roy Emery Gee, age
46 of Knoxville, was charged with supplying alcohol to minor; Dustin Cordell Olberding,
age 21 of West Des Moines, was charged with driving while barred; Jermaine Tyler
Sammler, age 22 of Ottumwa, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

In the past 24 hours, deputies responded to 32 calls for service including, but not limited
to: 13 extra patrol requests, 4 incomplete 911’s, 4 follow ups, 2 paper service attempts,
2 domestics, 2 motorist assists, 1 suicidal subject, 1 report of animal neglect, 1 report of
criminal mischief, 1 report of harassment, and 1 accident.
In the past 24 hours the communications center fielded 100 calls including 37 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 12 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 2 subjects were booked
into the Jail: Michael David Sparks, age 49 of Des Moines, was charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance 1,2,3rd, driving
under suspension; Zachary John Davis, age 37 of Chariton, was charged with violation
of probation

In the past 24 hours deputies responded to 57 calls for service including, but not limited
to: 16 extra patrol requests, 7 papers service attempts, 5 wanted person checks, 4
follow ups, 4 returned calls, 3 motorists assists, 2 accidents, 2 rescues, 2 requests to
help another agency, 2 bar checks, 1 fight, 1 welfare check, 1 report of debris in the
roadway, 1 request to meet a person, 1 juvenile, 1 suicidal subject, 1 report of a
reckless driver, and 2 other calls for service.
In the past 24 hours the communications center fielded 89 calls including 32 911 calls.
The jail is currently holding 14 subjects. In the past 24 hours, 5 subjects were booked
into the jail: Destiny Rae Letze, age 25 of Chariton, was charged with theft 5th degree
<$300; Clayton James Siebert, age 30 of Chariton, charged with theft 5th degree
<$300; Matthew Jacob Lobberecht, age 34 of Knoxville, was charged with theft 5th
degree <$300; Michael Jeffery Bright, age 25 of Des Moines, was charged with violation
of probation; Jacob Aaron Burns, age 29 of Knoxville, was charged with child
endangerment-death and abandon/neglect dependent.

to: 8 extra patrol requests, 3 incomplete 911s, 3 rescues, 3 wanted persons, 3 returned
calls, 3 paper service requests, 1 report of a suspicious person, 1 request for a welfare
check, 1 report of an animal bite, 1 horse, 1 motorist assist, 1 request to meet someone,
and 1 other call for service.
In the past 24 hours the communications center fielded 59 calls including 17 911 calls.

into the jail: Robert Dewayne Beardsley, Jr., age 18 of Milo, was charged with

failure to obey stop sign/yield row; Bobby Joe Raney, age 34 of Knoxville, was charged
with OWI-1st offense; Eric Wayne Sorenson, age 26 of Urbandale, on a Judgment
entry/mittimus; Wade Franklin Pettyjohn, age 35 of Hamilton, charged with possession
marijuana-3rd.

In the past 24 hours deputies responded to 43 calls for service including but not limited
to: 11 paper service attempts, 7 extra patrol requests, returned 4 phone calls, 4
accidents, 4 rescue calls, 3 follow up calls, 2 suspicious activity calls, 1 deer call, 1
harassment, 1 incomplete 911, 1 motorist assist, 1 welfare check, met with 1 subject, 1
suspicious vehicle, and 1 other call.
In the past 24 hours the communications center fielded 73 calls including 17 911 calls.

into the jail: Stephen Nicholas Slagter, age 32 of Knoxville, charged with driver’s license

Nicholas James Billings, age 28 of Pleasant Hill, is charged with burglary 3rd-vehicle
2nd offense, attempted burglary 3rd-vehicle, criminal mischief 2nd $1500-$10,000, theft
5th degree <$300, and burglary 3rd-vehicle 2nd offense

welfare check, 1 motorist assist, and 1 other call.
In the past 24 hours the communications center fielded 86 calls including 33 911 calls.

into the jail: David Athur McGhghy, age 62 of Oskaloosa, is charged with possession of
drug paraphernalia, drug trafficking-5gm-5kg amphetamine, drug tax stamp violations,
possession of a controlled substance-3rd, and possession-marijuana 1st; Shane
Christian Sylvester, age 36 of Knoxville, is charged with failure to appear/contempt
court; Ryan James Smith, age 31 of Knoxville, is charged with possession of drug
paraphernalia, controlled substance-methamphetamine.

to: 22 extra patrol requests, 2 rescue calls, 2 incomplete 911s, 2 paper service attempts,
2 vehicle unlocks, 1 debris call, 1 motorist assist, 1 fire alarm, 1 deer, 1 juvenile, 1
suspicious vehicle, and 2 other calls.
In the past 24 hours the communications center fielded 56 calls including 17 911 calls.

the jail: Kristi Renae Lahue, age 41 of Knoxville, charged with theft 4th degree

to: 22 extra patrol requests, 2 rescue calls, 2 incomplete 911s, 2 reckless drivers, 1
suspicious activity, 1 transport, and 1 other call.

into the jail: Kaylan Grace Garrick, age 22 of Lacona, charged with driving while barred;
Michelle Rene Daniels, age 40 of Knoxville, hold for other agency.

In the past 24 hours deputies responded to 24 calls for service including, but not limited
to: 7 extra patrol checks, 3 follow ups, 3 return calls, 2 reports of deer in the roadway, 1
reckless driver, 1 suspicious vehicle, 1 wanted person, 1 escort, 1 paper service
attempt, 1 violation of a no contact order, 1 dog call, 1 request to assist another agency
and 1 other call.
In the past 24 hours the communications center fielded 43 calls including 17 911 calls.

Masa, age 34 of Osceola, Devin Joseph May, age 19 of Des Moines, Jose Angel
Padilia, III, age 54 of Des Moines, and Jordan Christopher Howes, age 28 of Kansas
City, all on hold for other agency.
